About the Play

Based on the true story of the secret romance of the real Alice (Alice Liddell), who as a child was the inspiration for Lewis Carroll’s immortal story, and her British prince, Leopold, the youngest son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, during the four years he spent at Oxford. This romantic comedy tells the tale of the Prince’s courtship of Alice and the Queen’s furious objections.

To honor the a cappella traditions at Oxford, the music of Alice, Formerly of Wonderland is performed without accompaniment.
